Clan Roles & Settings
Clans use a **captain**, optional **vice-captains**, and optional **custom ranks** with specific permissions. ## Built-in roles | Role | What they can do | |------|------------------| | **Captain** | Everything: tag, taxes, invites, applications, upgrades, kicks, custom ranks, and vice-captain appointments. One captain per clan. | | **Vice-captain** | By default: invite players, accept applications, set taxes, and upgrade buildings. **Cannot** kick members or manage custom ranks. Required as the heir if the captain leaves or transfers captaincy. | | **Member** | Chat, donate, fight clan bosses, and use clan building bonuses. No management powers unless given a custom rank. | Admins who are in the clan can act with full captain-level powers for support. ## Custom ranks Captains create ranks on **Clan** → **Settings** and assign them on **Clan** → **Members**. Each rank can enable any mix of: | Permission | Effect | |------------|--------| | **Accept applications** | Approve or reject join applications on the Members page | | **Invite players** | Send invites from Settings (player joins when they accept) | | **Kick players** | Remove members (cannot kick the captain) | | **Manage taxes** | Edit clan tax rates on Settings | | **Upgrade buildings** | Buy or mark buildings on the Upgrades page | Rules of thumb: - Captains may wear a custom rank as a display title; their permissions stay full. - A member with a custom rank uses **that rank’s permissions** (not the default vice-captain set). - A vice-captain **without** a custom rank keeps the default vice-captain powers above. - Assigning a restrictive rank to a vice-captain can remove their management powers while they remain the heir for captaincy transfer. - Deleting a rank clears it from anyone who held it. ## Settings page **Clan** → **Settings** is shown to captains and to members who can manage taxes or send invites. | Section | Who can use it | |---------|----------------| | **Clan tag** | Captain only
